Calendar alert: Mother’s Day is just around the corner (Sunday, May 13 to be specific). Have you got the moms in your life a special little something to show your appreciation yet? Well, if you want to get out of the old flowers/box of chocolates rut you’ve come to the right place. This year, why not treat her to some of our personal pampering products that willenrich her body and soul while giving a respectful nod to Mother Earth at the same time.

Whatever stage of the maternal continuum she’s on, here are a few gift suggestions to help you out.

For the mom-to-be

Celebrate this transformative time with our Pregnancy Gift Set by Erbaviva. It contains three organic aromatherapeutic items in a sheer fiber bag, so the presentation is as appealing as the products within. It contains a trio of nourishing, hydrating and sweet scented body-care indulgences that will help her relax, focus and prepare for the new life growing within her. It includes the Mommy Milk Bath to soak away tensions, Stretch Mark Oil to encourage skin’s elasticity, and Back Rub Oil, because if there’s anyone who deserves a fragrant back rub it’s a pregnant woman!

For the new mom

Dads, don’t make the rookie mistake of getting her something for the baby on Mother’s Day. This is her day, so give her something that tells her she’s still an autonomous, special, beautiful woman in her own right. How about one of Tallulah Jane’s sensual, all-natural perfumes to make her forget diaper duty for a while? These organic, botanical essences are made from wild crafted oils and hand poured in small batches for a light, refreshing fragrance that is free of questionable synthetics. For example, try 333 Natural Eau de Parfum, which blends three types of chamomile, lavender and citrus notes to make a soft signature scent mom, dad and baby will love. If you’re not sure what scent she’d like, we also have Tallulah Fragrance Sample Kits to let her try a few different aromas.

For the mom in the trenches

With all the home-cooked meals, laundry loads, carpooling, boo-boo kissing, homework supervising, advice dispensing and relentless other tasks that come with the territory, your mom has earned a little time-out for herself. Saffron Rouge carries lots of calming, relaxing, restorative bath products that are sure to help her decompress – providing she can find the time to bathe, that is. At this all-encompassing, multi-tasking stage of the motherhood, might we suggest something a little more invigorating to help her get through the daily to-do list. Dr.Hauschka’s new Lemon Lemongrass Body Moisturizer will give her a pure and zesty pick-me-up as she softens and nourishes her skin. These luscious lotions also come in Lavender Sandalwood, Almond and Rose varieties as well.

For the “seasoned” mom or grandmother

While we offer many wonderful anti-aging skincare products at Saffron Rouge, let’s not go there for a Mother’s Day gift, okay? Chances are you contributed to the etching of some of those wrinkles, so you best stay away from that category altogether. Consider instead getting one or two red flower scented candles to add a little light, warmth and fragrance to her home. These clean, slow-burning organic candles come in a sleek and simple glass holder with a festive sprinkling of potpurri on top, so they look and smell beautiful even before you strike a match to it. They come in a delicious array of colorful and exotic botanical blends from around the world, including French Lavender, Spanish Gardenia, Japanese Peony and Icelandic Moonflower. Much better than a fleeting floral arrangement.

If you still can’t decide

You can always opt for a Saffron Rouge Gift Certificate that will let her choose something she truly wants for herself, including a motherload of lip balms, hand lotions, foot rubs, bath oils, body scrubs, aromatherapy oils and room sprays. This practical option isn’t considered a lazy-person’s cop out anymore. And for all you procrastinators out there, you can click and send her one of these right on the day. No more excuses.

For much of our recent history Americans have steered away from natural ingredients, and indeed from nature, deeming the practices of our ancestors as antiquated and not rooted in the latest scientific discovery. However, it is now science that supports the knowledge of our ancestors as many of the plants that were prized for their medicinal uses throughout our history have again become popular, precisely because they are more effective (and safer) than their synthetic counterparts. Although this effect generally applies to many fields, it is perhaps most evident in the skin care industry, where we now see that many of the compounds that were created in labs for skin care have been revealed as carcinogens, endocrine disruptors and, in general, are associated with the declining health of those who live in the Western world.

For instance, petrochemicals, such as petrolatum or mineral oil, were once lauded for their humectant properties, however, many of these petrochemicals have now been revealed as carcinogens.

As we reconsider the ingredients that have been utilized for centuries for their medicinal properties, it has become important that we relearn the knowledge surrounding medicinal plants that has been lost in recent times. We have become so disconnected from our natural environment that we no longer know what is harmful and what is beneficial, even though we are just as dependent upon our natural environment as we ever were.

Particularly in skin care, we are now learning that many of the ingredients that have become common on skin care labels such as sodium laureth sulfate, parabens, and petrochemicals are toxic to our bodies and responsible for a host of ailments including cancer, allergies, rashes, etc. Our skin is our largest organ; everything that is applied to the skin has the possibility of seeping into our bloodstream, therefore it is of utmost importance that we are knowledgeable about what we apply to our skin. Using all natural, plant-based skin care products is not only important for our environment in that is reduces the depletion of finite resources, such as oil, but it is also of utmost importance to our health.

Fortunately there are now a number of great natural skin products out there now that only use all natural ingredients, while not compromising efficacy. Some of the ingredients that yield the greatest results are all natural ingredients such as peptides, vitamin C and antioxidants such as green and white tea, pomegranate, grape seed extract and acai extract. All of these ingredients are effective anti-aging actives that reduce free radical damage and rejuvenate aging skin.

We are very excited to share with you all our new Exfoliating Serum that we’ve been working on the past couple months. Besides a few minor last tweaks, this great new skin care product is getting near completion.

It is an exfoliating, yet hydrating serum that works wonders at reducing discoloration and wrinkles.

A few ingredient highlights include:

Glycolic Acid - Arguably the most effective of the Alpha-Hydroxy Acid family, glycolic acid is amazing at exfoliating and reducing wrinkles and age spots.

Lactic Acid – Another of the Alpha Hydroxy Acid family, lactic acid exfoliates while hydrating the skin.

Apple Stem Cells – The stem cell of the rare Swiss apple has been shown to protect the skin from damage and age related deterioration.

Gigawhite – A blend of 6 organically grown alpine plants that inhibit the production of melanin. Melanin is responsible for skin discoloration that is a result of UV damage.

Sodium Hyaluronate – The salt of hyaluronic acid (HA), sodium hyaluronate has much better skin penetrability than HA. Making up the majority of the intracellular matrix of the skin, sodium hyaluronate plumps up the skin, giving you back that youthful, full look.

White Tea – Amazing antioxidant with UV protective effects

Vitamin C – Vitamin C is amazing at reducing skin discoloration and wrinkles while jumpstarting collagen production.

Goji Berry – Super-antioxidant berry

Ceramide – Naturally hydrates the skin while forming a thin protective lipid barrier over the skin.

And, that’s just a few of the actives in this great new product. Look for the release of this exciting new addition to our natural skin care line sometime in the next couple months!

With a deep passion for their products, Suki Kramer is 100% on creating skincare for results, stay clean, natural and pure.
initiated What motivated you to start your own line?

I had problems with skin care that have never been on-the-counter products, dermatologist visits or treatments recommended by the beauty of the fight against dissolved “experts” . I could not find a product that actually delivered what they promised, and as part of learning what is really happening in cosmetics, I realized that the world needs is exactly what I needed: something completely new and different – but very effective and 100% of course – which boasts a lot but not delivered. I’m Suki Skincare Clinically Proven Natural Solutions.
2 How long did it take? When your product line was ready for the general public?

After years of co-creation with cosmetics chemists and markets medicinal plants, my vision, innovative, safe and effective treatments with modern ingredients in the foundation of natural science has come to of life.
In the early years, doubled in 2002 after the integration, we have the right size for a couple of years, then increased at a respectable price for Suki, because of a loyal fan base of users Suki educated. <p As we age, we age, our bodies change. It's that simple. Form lines, where it used to be a smooth skin, and discoloration appear on what was once a smooth complexion. Fortunately, there are things we do to slow the appearance of wrinkles, and sagging can accompany aging of the skin (and wiser).
Courses

, eat well, with natural anti-aging products are rich in antioxidants and peptides and given plenty of rest, but we rarely think about how we sleep effect on wrinkles on our face. But yes, sleep-fold in real terms and may even adversely affect the appearance and the appearance of our skin for a lifetime.

sleep wrinkles are wrinkles that appear, or be degraded by years of sleeping on his stomach with his face against the pillow. If your face against a pillow for long periods, eg, 6-8 hours a night is pressed, it causes the train and wrinkling of the skin, attrition and elastin, causing wrinkles , sagging skin. Sometimes the same place as expression lines, sometimes not.

<p Although it may be difficult, after years of positions Sleeping on the side or stomach is the best way to avoid sleep wrinkles, change, is to sleep on their backs. Some people find that with a pillow that cradles the head reminds them not to drive at the end of recycling, whether sleeping on your back. In addition, cotton cushion covers tend to wrinkle more satin and some other tissues, so the choice of material for your pillowcase, which is not easily wrinkle, a good way to find the sleep to reduce wrinkling.
For those of us who have to sleep, sleep, wrinkles or the beginnings of wrinkles, improve the use of a product in the production of collagen to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and sagging skin. Peptides are one of the most effective ingredients to promote collagen and elastin may therefore looking for a product that contains natural skin peptides help fight those fine lines and wrinkles.
Your best bet is to train yourself to sleep on their backs. Although it may feel uncomfortable at first, after a month or two, most people are accustomed to it and it feels more natural. In the long run it is much easier (and cheaper) option of a facelift, fillers or other cosmetic invasive treatments, which caused the train to the right age and skin wrinkles by sleeping or on the side of the stomach.
might be needed

If people First switch to natural shampoos consciousness, they often complain about the lack of foam in their castles. After years of hair against flooding shower in a scented foam of bubbles, they tend to the effectiveness of soap and water equivalent to -. But in reality, the foam is not an essential element of clean

The fact that we grew in our waiting foam shampoos generally have by synthetic means, such as sodium petrochemical product – using the same stuff villain in the floor cleaning business. The cumulative effects of daily exposure to these chemicals are difficult to quantify, but they can certainly get into the bloodstream through our porous scalp irritation and allergic reactions and substances are quite difficult to flow down the drain can.
But let’s not on a forum on environmental risks to health or the ingredients to complain here. This post is more focused on the fact as not . While we all want to be good on earth, we would rather not have this noble philosophy of evil are constantly Bad Hair Days, is it not? Is

The unpleasant truth many formulations of natural and organic shampoo take a little getting used to use . There is often a short transition period, where the hair seems a little weaned flat, blunt or dull, perhaps, as familiar from its chemical bath. Some point out, his hair looks a little greasy during this adjustment period. This is because conventional shampoos work by stripping oil from hair and scalp sebum actually cause your head to produce more oil, triggering a vicious cycle. Years of struggle for “immaculate” Castles was actually perpetuate the problem, then of course it takes some time to break this pattern and use your body’s production of natural oil in the balance sheet.
The natural ingredients in herbal shampoos to wash harmful dirt, dandruff and grease without stripping, drying, extreme . After all, a little oil is needed to maintain shine, bounce, elasticity and manageability. Be patient as you match your hair with this new healthy approach to cleanliness.
style <img="float: left; margin: 0 1em 1em 0;" src="http://www.saffronrouge.com/images/products/medium/john-masters-organics/2384.jpg" alt="2384 In a lather over natural shampoos?" width="100" height="340" title="In a lather over natural shampoos?" /> On a related note, it often takes a few washes to breakdown and detoxify your hair from the residue left by previous use of the product. You will need a special rinse clarification clarifier John Masters Herbal Cider Hair Rinse to remove these deposits begin before natural shampoo can work effectively.
Some people

an overdose of natural shampoo in a vain attempt to create the familiar halo of bubbles. Then they complain they have no more the product too early and reluctant, that the “green” brands are too expensive. But if you are the recommended quarter size dollop (or whatever the label dictates) stuck, you should find a bottle lasts a long time and is actually a good price on a cost per use . The trick is to wet the hair before using the shampoo, then massage into the scalp for a minute or two, there is really working. The agitation of the fingertips with the ingredients of the formula are, what to clean and take care of your hair, not the foam.
A second shampoo can really make a difference in the cleanliness and washing efficiency, if they say, rinse and repeat, you do so. Speaking of rinsing, hard water minerals out of your taps more often for hair flat and lifeless as the shampoo you use to blame. Try it with purified water or distilled water as the final sprint, and close your shower with a jet of cold water to help seal the cuticle.
So go ahead and get you on your desire to wash with soap and water misdirected. Once you hold through the first few washes, you will begin crowning, adapt, prosper and enjoy the beautiful pure natural ingredients in these shampoos. Here are some recommended products:

Lightening age spots and uneven complexion caused by sun damage is a major concern for many of us as we age. Many of us, however, do not want to take the risk of putting harsh chemicals on our skin, or undergoing a costly laser procedure to correct the discoloration. Fortunately, there are some all natural ingredients that we can look for in our skin care products that will create a more even complexion and reduce age spots and discoloration.

One of the most effective natural ingredients for reducing skin discoloration is Vitamin C. Vitamin C is a natural skin lightener that breaks up melanin in the skin, working to heal sun damage and promote collagen production. By regularly applying a topical Vitamin C Serum, you can reduce skin discoloration dramatically, while improving the overall health of your skin. It is important to choose a stable form of Vitamin C such as sodium ascorbyl phosphate for maximum results and efficacy. Vitamin C not only reduces discoloration but also has photoprotective qualities that actually provide a certain amount of protection from the damaging rays of the sun and increase the efficacy of sunscreen.

Too much sun is a major cause of skin discoloration

Skin discoloration and age spots usually result from overexposure to the sun so the best way to avoid these types of discoloration is to avoid the sun. When you do plan to be outdoors make sure to wear a hat, sunglasses and natural sunscreen with physical blocking agents such as titanium dioxide.

Spring is there, and that means it’s spring cleaning time. While you’re busy cleaning out your closets, clearing your clutter and sprucing up your home is to give some thought to how you wash your face. Sounds simple enough, but there is more to it than a splash, lather and rinse blind.

cleaning is the most important step in a routine skin care. It gets rid of dirt, sweat, oil, makeup, bacteria, dead skin cells and other pollutants so you can get a clean, clean sheets. Washing may be much or too harsh, drying or irritating, and with the wrong products for your needs is a no-no. It’s time to take this grooming ritual off autopilot and go through the process step by step.
style <img="float: left; margin: 0 1em 0.4em 0" src="http://www.saffronrouge.com/blog/file.axd?file=2012%2f3%2fwash-hands.jpg"alt="file.axd?file=2012%2f3%2fwash hands A tutorial for spring cleaning your face" title="A tutorial for spring cleaning your face" /> The first rule of washing your face is actually wash their hands . You do not want grunge, dirt and germs to everything you touch throughout the day to transfer your delicate facial skin. Your fingers are the perfect tools for cleaning and work gently massage around your face, so that you start with numbers spotlessly clean. Some people prefer using washcloths, but it can be a bit abrasive so use a soft touch, especially if you have sensitive skin. Cotton swabs (preferably organic!)
Hollywood stars, more than most of us mere mortals, need to put their best face forward. Whether it’s on screen for a role or a candid paparazzi shot on the street, a celebrity’s look is almost always in the spotlight. Their skin care regimen and cosmetic choices are important tools of the trade so, naturally, we want to know what lotions and potions they are using to get that glow – naturally being the key word.

More and more famous faces are opting for natural, organic, pure beauty products, not simply to jump on the “green” bandwagon but because they genuinely love them. Beyond the botanical ingredients, gentle scents, recycled packaging, cruelty free commitments and fair trade business practices, these products work! Here are some of the stars who are enjoying Saffron Rouge’s range of natural cosmetics on their faces, bodies and hair.

In the January 2012 issue of InStyle Magazine, Jennifer Aniston gives props to Dr.Hauschka’s Moisturizing Day Cream. “I put this on after my serum and before my makeup,” she explains. So that’s how this forty-something beauty still looks like a twenty-something friend. Other famous fans of the Dr.Hauschka holistic skin care line include Jennifer Lopez, Madonna, Kate Blanchette and Uma Thurman.

Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soaps garnered the highest praise from makeup artist-to-the-stars Bobbi Brown on a little program called the Oprah Winfrey Show last year. “It’s probably the finest soap in the universe. I’m obsessed with it. I cannot get enough of it!” she said of the organic, fair trade certified soaps. How do you top the universe? Drew Barrymore, Lucy Liu and Sandra Bullock love to lather up with Dr. Bronner’s too.

Weleda is another popular brand with the celebrity set. Chart topper Adele told Heat Magazine in April 2011 “I wear a lot of makeup and when I’m working I like to use Skin Food by Weleda because I feel really replenished when I do.” Stunning Jessica Alba shares her beauty secrets in the December 2011 issue of InStyle Magazine by exclaiming, “I love natural beauty buys like Weleda. The argument for organic skincare on sensitive skin makes sense. I opt for products that don’t have much of a fragrance.” Count Victoria Beckham, Kate Hudson and Rihanna as other Weleda devotees.

Pangea Organics is a line that has been often praised by two stars now known as much for their healthy lifestyle blogs as their acting chops. Oscar winner Gwyneth Paltrow recently singled out Pangea Organic’s Facial Cream on her popular Goop newsletter. Alicia Silverstone plugged Pangea Organic’s Canadian Pine with White Sage Body Wash as one of her favorites on TheKindLife.com, her successful blog devoted to vegan and natural living.

Supermodels Gisele Bunchen, Miranda Kerr and Karolina Kurkova have all extolled the virtues of Dr. Alkaitis holistic cosmetics line. Actress Rosanna Arquette offers a glowing testimonial, “I just want to say how much I love the Dr. Alkaitis products. I’m addicted. It’s really been great for my skin and I’m loving the results. I feel and look younger for someone who doesn’t do botox.” Now those are refreshing words coming from Hollywood!
